This coming reunion we are planning to add a new raffle to our fundraising efforts. We will still be doing the main auction and the silent auction but will be adding a White Elephant Raffle. We would like for everyone that comes to bring a white elephant item wrapped in newspaper, gift wrap, bagged, etc. This includes the children also. Children's items should be labeled "child", "boy", or "girl". Raffle tickets will be sold for 25 cents each and you can buy as many tickets as you like. All the children's items will be on one table and the rest on other tables. Each child that is at the reunion will have their name put into a bucket. Before the main raffle begins we will draw the children's names out and each child will get to come pick out an item off the children's table. This is a freebie so that each child that comes gets to have a prize/toy. After the children's drawing, then any children's items that are left goes into the big pile of white elephant items and the raffle begins. We will draw numbers until all items are gone. Soooooooo - start collecting your wonderful white elephant items and set them aside for the reunion. You are not limited to bringing one item, bring as many as you would like. If you want to bring a few extra children's items that is fine too. The more items the better. We do this raffle at my husbands reunion and it is always a lot of fun and quite successful money wise. It also is a great way to get all involved with the fundraising. Not everyone can afford to bid on the high priced items in the auction and not everyone wins the silent auction bids. This gives them another opportunity to help out with the fundraising.
